Levanta Institute @ Albuquerque Academy

About Us

The Levanta Institute for Music and Creativity fosters lifelong creative expression through inclusive programs in music and the arts. By offering classes, workshops, performances, and artistic experiences open to all, we create space for individuals of all ages to explore meaning, emotion, and imagination through creative action and reflection.

Our History

Albuquerque Academy has been a place of educational innovation and opportunity since its founding in 1955. What began as a small school for twelve boys has grown into a nationally recognized institution serving over 1,100 students in grades 6 through 12. Supported by the extraordinary generosity of Albert and Ruth Simms and a steadfast commitment to accessibility, the Academy has continually expanded its offerings, facilities, and mission.

In this spirit of growth and creative exploration, the Levanta Institute for Music and Creativity was launched in 2022. As a public program of Albuquerque Academy, Levanta expands the Academy’s reach beyond its student body—offering classes, workshops, performances, and events that nurture creativity across all stages of life. Today, Levanta carries forward the Academy’s legacy of excellence by fostering artistic expression, community engagement, and lifelong learning through the arts.
